Africa Village Square extends a warm thank you to everyone who attended our African Diaspora Networking Event last week, Thursday April 25. Your energy, ideas, and openness made the evening an inspiring space for connection and community-building.
A special highlight of the night was our fireside chat with Kimathi, Founder and Creative Director of Jamhuri Wear. He shared powerful reflections on creativity, cultural storytelling, and his journey from working with Ecko Unltd* to building a globally recognized brand worn by icons like Jay-Z, Lupita Nyong’o, Jidenna, Seun Kuti, and Akon. His insights reminded us of the importance of owning our narratives and elevating African culture with confidence.
We are also deeply grateful to Ameal Tesfaye, whose photography beautifully captured the spirit of the evening.
A huge thank you as well to our dedicated volunteers, whose support ensured a smooth and memorable event.
Our next networking gathering will take place on Thursday, May 16. Please mark your calendars — and feel free to share with friends, colleagues, and anyone in your circle who would benefit from being part of this community.

Once again, thank you for making this event an incredible success. We are building something special and excited to continue this journey together. We hope to see you at the next event!
