Africa Village Square had the honor of showcasing the incredible work of Ameal Tesfaye in her debut exhibition, Portraits in Texture: The Art of Presence, on Saturday, December 7. The evening brought together art lovers, community members, and supporters for a memorable gathering filled with powerful visuals, meaningful conversations, and deep connections. It was indeed a celebration of art and community.
Ameal’s portraits—rich with texture, emotion, and intentional presence—captivated attendees and sparked thoughtful dialogue about identity, storytelling, and the role of art in shaping cultural narratives.
At Africa Village Square (AVS), empowering and uplifting talent within our community is core to our mission, and this event beautifully embodied that purpose. We are proud to have provided a platform for Ameal’s work and look forward to continuing to celebrate the creativity that thrives within our diaspora.
